A weekend course ideal for beginners or to those with some experience. It is to be held in Canterbury 29th September-1st October 2017.

Accomodation is not provided however we are happy to send a list of nearby guest houses on request.

9.30 am Parish Registers The backbone of Family History Research
11.30 pm Parish Records Parochial records other than parish registers form a wonderful resource for "fleshing-out" the skeletal family tree learning about your ancestors as individuals

2.00 pm Wills and Probate A great wealth of family and social history material can be discovered in probate records

9.30 am Free An opportunity for discussion with experts, making more use of the library, or visiting Canterbury
11.00 Palgraphy Tutorial in deciphering handwriting in old documents essential for progress back to the 17th century

2.00 pm Practical Exercise Hands-on session to put some of your learning into practice
